Director Risk Management

At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-time, others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days) and some work entirely remotely.

This is a remote position, so you’ll be working remotely from your home. You may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or meetings. This position is not eligible to be performed in Alaska, Mississippi, North Dakota, or the Virgin Islands.

At GoDaddy, we are hiring an experienced leader to join our team as Director of Risk Management. This leader will focus on Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) functions. Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit, ERM and SOX Compliance, this role involves improving operational controls and managing risks. We are looking for someone with expertise in business processes, who is driven and passionate about creating robust control environments along with solving complex challenges!

What you’ll get to do…

  • Drive the business process aspects of the SOX compliance program, including scoping, testing and reporting on the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting
  • Join forces with business stakeholders to evaluate and enhance processes, strengthening controls and improving efficiency across the organization
  • Develop and maintain the (ERM) framework, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, assess and prioritize risks, driving the creation of actionable mitigation strategies and plans
  • Foster positive relationships with collaborators, partners, team members and external auditors to present risk insights, trends, and mitigation progress
  • Stay ahead of regulatory updates, process improvement trends and emerging risks to drive continuous improvements in risk mitigation strategies and control processes

Your experience should include…

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in accounting, finance or related field; CPA, CIA, CISA, or other relevant certifications required
  • Recent public accounting background from a Big 4 Firm, with at least 2 years in a leadership position
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in internal audit, SOX compliance, and enterprise risk management roles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence collaborators at all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional knowledge of internal control frameworks, risk assessment methodologies, and regulatory requirements (e.g., COSO, SOX, SEC, and PCAOB) as well as critical IT components (e.g., automated controls, key reports, segregation of duties, etc.)
  • Expertise in preparing and delivering professional presentations to executives and ability to adapt to changing priorities and work assignments

  • Collaborate with Business leaders and Product Marketing to understand market needs and determine the most outstanding ways to fund our merchants. Launch and scale these initiatives in partnership with Marketing, Care, and Legal teams
  • Build, coach, and mentor a team of exceptional product managers responsible for driving product initiatives from inception through launch and beyond
  • Systematically analyze data to discover opportunities, establish objectives and key results for your organization that align with broader business goals, monitor important metrics, and improve return on investment in your product portfolio
  • Engage with collaborators at all levels, sharing ideas and encouraging those around you with your product vision and strong sense of empathy for our customers

Your experience should include…

  • 10+ years of experience, with a focus on product management for 5+ years and a consistent track record of building and launching customer or developer-facing payouts on a large scale for 3+ years
  • 2+ years of experience leading a team of product managers
  • A strong business competence, comfortable with defining strategy, identifying and modeling business opportunities, and crafting and completing go-to-market plans.
  • A strong engineering aptitude, effective at using technical depth and the voice of the customer to partner with and earn the trust of a world-class Engineering organization

You might also have…
